How to Grow My Internet Business

Did you know that there may be 4.7 million online stores that compete for the SAME keywords that your store prides itself on? Do you know where you rank on google out of those 4.7 million?  Do you want to improve and capture those sales that you so rightfully deserve?!

OF COURSE YOU DO!!!  You WANT people to know who you are!  You WANT them to experience the uniqueness that is your boutique...whether online or not.  You WANT to be seen!!  And you deserve to be Noticed!

Here's a small tip that I like to share with all of our business shoppers.  

By now, I'm certain that you've heard of "cookies" right?  Well, just in case...cookies are "...small files which are stored on a user's computer. They are designed to hold a modest amount of data specific to a particular client and website, and can be accessed either by the web server or the client computer. This allows the server to deliver a page tailored to a particular user, or the page itself can contain some script which is aware of the data in the cookie and so is able to carry information from one visit to the website (or related site) to the next."

So in laments terms, cookies are little pieces of file excerpts that tell your browser what you like to see.  And based on this information, your searches become tailored to websites you visit the most.  So ie., if you visit your website often, then it becomes a part of your regular search results.

So, let's say you google your own website...just to see where you land on Google's search pages.  Guess what?!  If you visit your own website quite frequently....which I'm sure you have (for maintenance or just to take a peek) ...your search results have been tainted and are in fact untrue and the ranking you receive is unreliable. Why?  Because your cookies are communicating with your browser that your "own" website is a site that you visit often is your favorite and should therefore be shown as one of your top 20 returned results.  This NOT the same result that your shoppers receive. It not only displays your TRUE ranking result based on your keywords but it also informs you of where you rank on Google according to your competitors.

Don't believe me?  Well, let's try our site (and keep in mind, we DO NOT use Google Ads to promote our website...we have achieved our results via organic methods...FREE!!!....And YES! it CAN be done!!!!) 

Enter our domain"www.dollipopskidz.com" and  "Dropship Kids Clothing" as your keywords phrase.  It may take approx a minute or so to return results.  Now, once the results return...notice the "# of Possible Results"...NOW notice where we land in reference to those results....EXACTLY!  Now keep this in mind....We have done this WITHOUT spending one single dime on advertising!!!  How did we do this?  Well, if everyone gave away their secrets, then we wouldn't be in the selling business, now would we?  

People often say, "There's plenty of business out there for everyone."  While that may be true...there's ONLY a FEW slots on the first page of a search engine!  What you have to ask yourself, is if you are ready for the first page or are you still maturing.


Let's face it, its a dog eat dog world out there in this retail world.  So what are you?  A pit-bull or a Chihuahua...all bark with very little bite?


This post is not meant to give you any "magical" secrets into the world of boutique retail.  Because to be honest...there aren't any.  And anyone who tries to make you pay for otherwise...well...I would be very suspicious about that.  Each result, each sale, each quarterly profit is dependent upon your market niche and more importantly your competition.  And as your business changes and your competition evolves...so should you!

But here's what I can tell you....you've heard the phrase that content is king right? And you often wonder...what in the heck does "content' have to do with MY website?  I sell products and NOT content!  Here's a secret...your "content" is what you place in your description boxes!  Its how you title your products...its NOT your Meta Tags...its NOT your PR...its how well you relate to the customers you're trying to reach!

Try this exercise...clear your browser...clear your cache...now, think from the mind of your consumer...and search one of YOUR products...are you searching for "Creme Cocoa Puff Boutique Top & Pants Set" or are your searching for "Brown and White Top and Pants Set under 20?"   

Here's another question.  Are you active on your social networks?  I mean REALLY active...2 to 3 posts a day active?  


Again, this was NOT  a "secret reveal" post, but rather an eye opener.  At this point, you may be asking yourself "What can I Do to improve?"  And the answer is quite simple...DEDICATE yourself to the improvement process in itself.  Take the time to add alt names to your images...make your descriptions unique...make your title search friendly (stop naming your products after people and flavors and title them according to their colors and characteristics - we're even guilty of that on some occasions here).  Engage with your followers on social Media and NOT just everytime you have a NEW product to sell...Make them laugh...Make them Cry...Interact with their hearts and NOT just their wallets!  Be a company that truly CARES.

Yes, it IS hard work...No it isn't easy!  If you are looking for a way to make money without ever having to read, research, try, fail, sweat, cry, panic, or even prick your finger over...then maybe the life of a Disney Princess is for you...but heck even those ladies had to go thru some journeys to get to THEIR happy endings.

Again, we're not going to divulge ALL of our secret techniques, because we have spent years perfecting our processes.  But we will tell you this...its NOT difficult AND you CAN do this!!!!  You CAN succeed in this boutiquing business because YOU ARE uniquely YOU!!!
